To clarify the current status of and issues relating to transport in Northeast Asia and consider measures to solve problems, as well as reinforcing the cooperative framework between the countries involved in order to develop transportation corridors |
| Outline of Outcome |
Editions of the Vision for the Northeast Asia Transportation Corridors were published in each language and the cooperation of related institutions in establishing the corridors was sought. Proposals for specific projects that will generate flows of people and goods were made, with a view to establishing the corridors. A symposium about the corridors was held in Tokyo and efforts were made to deepen understanding about Northeast Asia and the Northeast Asia Transportation Corridors |

To aim for the construction of a network to cultivate and develop eco-industry in each country through international environmental cooperation, in order to combine economic development and environmental conservation in Northeast Asia. |

In addition to carrying out on-the-ground surveys in the ROK and Mongolia, and exchanging opinions with representatives of relevant institutions, the potential for implementing the Kyoto mechanisms, such as CDM, was considered, especially capacity-building (nurturing human resources, developing frameworks, etc.) in developing countries. Through this, the potential for building an eco-industry network in the future was explored. |
